With a show-business career spanning forty years including 21 hit films, over 230 records and hundreds of stage performances, plus entertaining an estimated THREE MILLION Allied servicemen and women during World War II, George Formby was one of the most popular and highest paid entertainers in the British Isles.

The secret of his success was a unique combination of personality, natural ability and talent – all of which our very own Derek Herbert has in abundance!

Derek will have your audience in the palm of his hand as he sings and plays the ukulele in Formby’s inimitable style, performing from a repertoire of humorous original songs flavoured with Formby’s unique brand of English North Country humour.

Derek's entertaining verbal and musical tribute act to George Formby includes a light-hearted talk on his life, self-accompanied by both ukulele and ukulele-banjo, during which Derek encourages audience participation. An accomplished singer and musician, having studied drama and music at the renowned Crane Studios in Liverpool, Derek also has a wealth of musical theatre experience. He regularly entertains at private and public functions throughout the country both as George Formby and as a superb Winston Churchill soundalike / lookalike.
